There are a wide variety of industrial uses for compressed air. Manufacturers and construction use air-powered tools such as nailers and spray guns for painting. Automotive industries use compressors for inflating tires and powering tools including pnematic wrenches.
Industrial users of compressed air often are more demanding of their compressors than recreational or home users. They may require greater power and often run their compressors much longer than an average consumer might. As a result, industrial compressors are traditionally more rugged than those sold to casual users. They usually have longer run times and are gas-powered, allowing them to provide much greater air pressure. In addition to their enhanced compressing capacity and running time, industrial compressors will usually be built more ruggedly, to protect them from the rough handling that they may receive in a factory or on a construction site.
